Expression through the medium of hair has been a long-standing staple in black culture. From the cornrows to the fro, to the headwraps, each specific hairstyle represented a form of personal or cultural expression. Hair means the world to black history, black present, and black future however, the world and even black people sometimes, don't know this.

That is why I took it upon myself to really dive deeper into the connection between hair and the black identity in order to understand the who, what, when, where's and how's. Through this exploration, I hope to not only educate myself, and you (the audience), but hopefully erase the stigma of black hair not being beautiful. Welcome to braidwashed.
